Description

The Haven, a former Fisherman's cottage built in 1710, is situated in King Street only 50 metres from the dock area and access to the beach. The cottage can be accessed from King Street or by the rear door in what used to be Queen Street. The cottage welcomes well behaved dogs. WI-FI available: The cottage has Bay Broadband which offers very good download and upload speeds. The picturesque village has a very interesting history and its easy to imagine the smuggling activity along the narrow streets. The village has a good choice of eating & drinking places with lots of cafes, restaurants, 2 Fried Fish Shops and 5 public houses (3 in the lower village and 2 at the top).Go to our Gallery page for a photo of every business. There is also a well stocked grocery shop and a wet fish shop in the lower village as well as the shop/Post Office in the top village

Fire Safety

The Haven has "electrically connected" smoke detectors on each floor as well as a fire extinguisher & fire blanket in the kitchen area with an additional fire extinguisher at the top of the stairs of the second floor. C02 detector near the central heating boiler on the second floor and another in the Lounge/Kitchen area. There is an emergency lighting system in the area next to the rear door
